UK Black Pride promotes unity and co-operation among all Black people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Middle Eastern and Latin American descent, as well as their friends and families, who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender.
Our Team members are committed to producing an annual celebration of “Black Pride”, as well as organising a variety of activities throughout the year in and around the UK which also promote and advocate for the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual health and well-being of all related communities. Our aim is to foster, present and celebrate Black LGBT culture through education, the arts, cultural events and advocacy.
This is why UK Black Pride matters
It might sound nuts, but I didn’t identify as a person of colour until very recently. The term felt clunky and I’m still a bit at odds with it, but it is descriptive and inclusive, and anything that intends to do that has my vote.
Growing up, my mum said we were black, like our Jamaican and Turkish neighbours – “because we’re not white” – so I took that on for most of my life until I hit my 20s and found most of my friends, colleagues and lovers were white, and I was reminded of my difference again. Read in Full Here

Our free event is open to all LGBTQ+ POC and allys held in Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens on Sunday 9 July 2017 12:00–21:00.
