LGBTUDRGRD: What’s Good?
Young Gattas: Im just working hard grindin’ appreciate this opportunity to speak with LGBTUNDERGROUND
LGBTUDRGRD: Can you give us a quick introduction of yourself for our visitors?
Young Gattas: Whats Good its Young Gattas, Battle Rap Champion , You might’ve seen me on Worldstar , ThisIs50, Youtube…Regardless I’m Reppin’ Chicago to Indiana & the whole Midwest Movement!
LGBTUDRGRD: So what’s happening with you & the music at the moment?
Young Gattas: Im Currently working’ on 3 EPs, 1st one set for release is “Get Ya Bars Bxtch” & i released a Mixtape ”Belly Of The Beast” available for free download on DatPiff.com
LGBTUDRGRD: Are there any plans for any Collaboration with Other LGBT Artists anytime soon?
Young Gattas: Im definitely looking forward to collaborating with LGBT artists in the future. I really would like to put together a project collaborating with the likes of flipondeck, yelzufly, kin4life etc. Something B I G!
LGBTUDRGRD: When people check out your music what has the response been like so far?
Young Gattas: Honestly the response is positive! They are surprised i can incorporate battle rap type metaphors into songs and topics. I just feel like its a mixture of all the genres i listen to most. Rock, Pop, Underground Rap…alot of different sounds
LGBTUDRGRD: what inspires you to make your music?
Young Gattas: My inspiration to make music is the fans & just pure passion. Ive been making music for so long that its just like second nature, & its something i can’t ever see myself NOT doing.
LGBTUDRGRD: what’s the LGBT Music scene like in the US? Or is there even such a thing as a LGBT Music Scene?
Young Gattas: Honestly in my part of the US , Midwest , its really poppin’ . I usually perform at the Pride and Black Pride events in indianapolis & they have been introducing a lot of new young LGBT talent.
LGBTUDRGRD: How hard is it to make it in this industry as a Female Artist, and is being LGBT important to sale your music or should you keep your sexuality to yourself?
Young Gattas: Being a female in this industry is already a disadvantage but trying to break into the mainstream realm is even harder. I don’t feel like being a Lesbian is important to sell my music or that sexuality should hender or propel anyones career. Lets let the TALENT speak for itself!!!
LGBTUDRGRD: Are there any other artists from the US/UK or from the LGBT scene that we should be on the look out for?
Young Gattas: You guys should definitely be on the lookout for MIDWEST FENDI & PUBLICITY & DJ EASYE. Ive been working with them & they have some good projects set to drop winter 2012.
LGBTUDRGRD: If you wasn’t making music what do you think you would be doing with you life right now?
Young Gattas: If music wasn’t a factor id probably be a firefighter or own a strip club lmao
LGBTUDRGRD: How important do you think it is for new artist’s to know their history and appreciate the different elements of Hip-Hop even if they don’t partake in them?
Young Gattas: I feel its imperative that we know our hiphop history. You can’t be apart of making history without knowing it. As everyone knows battle rap is one of the earliest forms of hiphop & I’m heavily involved with that movement as well as Djing.
LGBTUDRGRD: Any final words / shutouts before we finish?
Young Gattas: I just wanna give a shootout to my Management team , EBA , GATTASNATION , LGBTUNDRGRD for this opportunity, The Entire MIDWEST , & everyone supporting good music out there & that appreciate raw unfiltered talent! Im outro
