When you think of Annapolis, you think of crabs and yachts on the bay. Soon you’ll think of Dephyne, a lyrical genius. Annapolis, Maryland-born, Alabama-bred, Dephyne’s music brings a nice mix of city style and down south swag.

Dephyne developed a love for fitness and human physiology at a young age. However, after high school graduation, she decided to pursue her interest in anesthesiology. It wasn’t long before her appetite for the gym grew stronger and pulled her in the direction of becoming a certified personal trainer and fitness professional.

In 2008, she found herself in an unforeseen place in life where writing became her outlet. She used writing to release all the negative energy she internalized; writing became her safe zone. Her work told a story and carried a message that could help others get through their harsh times as well. A new passion quickly began flowing in her veins: writing and music combined with fitness.

In 2010, Dephyne travelled the country pursuing her dreams. Her travels halted abruptly upon receiving news of her grandmother unexpectedly falling ill. Now, a little over two years later, Dephyne is ready to continue the pursuit of her dreams.

This time she’s pulling out all the stops, holding nothing back.

Her much-anticipated mixtape, due for release Sept 2012, is one of many great works to come. Dephyne will give new meaning to the independent underground music industry.
